The third five years, 1979 through 1984, are referred to as the “Sustaining Years” and Phase III of the vision. Sustain means to hold up and keep from falling. God sustained the life of the Church and continued to do good things for His believers. The year 1984 marked 15 years for Pastor Drinkwater and the life of the “little Church”. At that point, Redeemed realized that it was a stable Church and that it was permanent. Membership continued to grow and the Church became more successful, therefore it was agreed upon to name the years of 1984 through 1989 the “Stable Years”.
On February 24, 1985, we celebrated a very successful “Old Timers Day”. Our theme was “Let’s Go Back To the Old Landmark”. It was a very interesting day. On September 5, 1988, Rev. Tyrone T. Turner received his Ministry License. April 30, 1989, Delton Brown, Wendell Davison, Kenneth Dockins and Wayne Richardson were ordained as Deacons.
In 1990, Pastor Drinkwater and the Superintendent of Sunday School, Bro. Barry Lawrence, represented the Church in a National Convention. In June of 1990, Redeemed held its first Vacation Bible School.
In 1991, Redeemed made another addition to the Church. This time the Church built a Sanctuary and remodeled the Fellowship Hall, which became the L.R. Drinkwater Fellowship Hall.
In 1992, the Radio Ministry began and it continues to air every Saturday morning at 8:15 on KTLV 1220 AM, spreading the gospel throughout the state and beyond. Redeemed paid off all its property and cleared all deeds and titles in preparation for the construction of the new sanctuary that was completed the same year.Groundbreaking was held in 1992 and we were on our way. The construction was completed and the Dedicatory Service was held on March 26, 1993, and today we have a beautiful, magnificent edifice in which to worship.
The years 1989 through 1994 were to be known as the “Successful Years”. Those years were called successful years because God’s plan for Redeemed was a success! The vision that God had given to the Pastor was becoming a reality and in 1993 we took out a loan for future purchases. Johnny Dillard was added to the Deacon Board in March 1994. April 29, 1995, Keith Carter was ordained as a Deacon and Jessie Broussard and Manfret McGhee received their Gospel Ministry Certificate of Ordination.
